Systems
Motivation Is Unreliable—Build Systems Instead
Motivation is useful for starting, but it is too variable to manage the work that matters. A system carries intention across changes in mood, energy, and attention.
Reduce negotiation
Decide the time, place, trigger, and minimum version in advance. Prepare the environment so beginning requires fewer choices.
Improve the system, not the fantasy
When a routine fails repeatedly, reduce friction or change the design. Demanding more intensity from the same broken setup is not discipline.
Winning is a process, not a moment.
