Review the Friction, Not Just the Misses

Counting a miss is easy. Understanding it is where the value lives. A useful review looks for the obstacle between the intention and the action.

Find the repeated condition

Was the habit scheduled too late? Did the environment require too many steps? Did another commitment consume the same energy? Look for what repeats.

Change one variable

Move the time, reduce the minimum, prepare the environment, or change the trigger. A review should leave you with an experiment, not a lecture.
